DEEPENINGS |
Morphology of the object: |
The hut has been realized with a mix of clay and straw set on a framework of poles and reeds; the roof was made of a wood structure of poles, tightly covered by numerous bundles of small reeds, tied up. One or two triangular openings on the roof, a kind of skylight, allowed the spillage of the smoke and a minimum of illumination, while the door was constituted by removable wood panels.
The furniture and the inside organisation were simple: besides the area reserved to the fireplace and to the pallets to sleep, some wood tables could be used as ledges; terracotta vessels or containers drawn from the pumpkins or from the skins of the animals were used to contain food, drinks and grain.
